Connect to Hyperliquid (and authorise Filo)

Two ways to connect: create a Filo wallet (easiest, no crypto experience needed) or connect your own wallet. Then authorise Filo to trade.

This is the one-time setup that lets Filo trade for you. It takes a couple of minutes. Pick the path that fits you.

Path A — Create a Filo wallet (recommended if you are new)

Filo creates a secure wallet for you, right in the app. You do not need MetaMask or any crypto experience. This is the simplest way to start.

  1. On the dashboard, open the setup card and choose "Create a Filo wallet".
  2. Set a PIN — this protects your wallet on this device.
  3. Fund the wallet (see "Fund your account"), then approve Filo to trade. Done.
Back up your recovery phrase when prompted. It is the only way to restore the wallet if you lose your device. Filo cannot recover it for you.

Path B — Connect your own wallet

If you already use MetaMask, Rabby, or another EVM wallet, connect it directly.

  1. Choose "Connect wallet" and approve the connection in your wallet.
  2. Sign two messages: one to grant Filo a trading agent key, one to approve the builder fee. These are signatures, not transactions — no gas, no transfer.
  3. That is it — Filo can now trade on your Hyperliquid account.

What you are authorising

  • Agent key — a trading-only key. It can place and cancel orders. It cannot withdraw your funds.
  • Builder fee — your permission for Hyperliquid to charge Filo a small fee per trade (capped). This is how Filo earns; there is no subscription.
If Hyperliquid shows a rate-limit error during setup, it usually means that wallet has signed many actions before. Wait a minute and retry, or use a fresh Filo wallet.
