Fund your account (Perp vs Spot)
Deposit USDC to Hyperliquid. Copy trading uses your Perp balance; Grid Bot uses your Spot balance. Move funds between them inside Hyperliquid.
Filo trades with funds in your Hyperliquid account. You need USDC there before anything can run.
Where your money needs to be
- Copy trading trades perpetuals — it uses your Perp (perpetuals) balance.
- Grid Bot trades spot — it uses your Spot balance.
Deposits often land in Perp by default. If a Grid Bot buy fails with "insufficient spot balance", your USDC is in Perp — move it to Spot inside the Hyperliquid app (click USDC → Transfer between Spot and Perp).
Making your first deposit
- Open the Hyperliquid app and deposit USDC (Arbitrum is the native route).
- If this is your first time on Hyperliquid, use Filo’s referral link when prompted — it costs you nothing and supports Filo.
- Move funds to Spot or Perp depending on which product you want to run.
